Enameled Details

As I work on designs for my final line (it’s fast approaching!) I’ve been looking for bits and pieces that remind me of my trip to Paris. The goal is to incorporate vintage elements and styling into my more modern garments. This weekend I lucked upon a stash of art deco buckles. Presumably they are shoe buckles, since some art pretty tiny. The largest measures about 1.5″ wide by 1″ high. I was delighted to learn that they might have been made by the Blacher brothers, jewelry makers from Providence, RI,  in the 1920’s-1930’s. I’m hoping to dig up a little more information on their work in the next few weeks.
